1. How-do-you-do folks,

   I am abroad from my studio for 2 months and have non been able to download the Kontakt Library to an external drive. At that place isn't enough room on the laptop itself, and, while I accept successfully prepare the preference locations of both the downloads and content to an external drive with plenty of space, when I relieve those settings and return to download information technology keeps telling me that it tin't download considering there is not enough space on my laptop. The attached screen capture shows the external drive setting and the error message at the aforementioned fourth dimension. I have tried downloading to two separate drives, but with plenty of bulldoze space, but aforementioned error message. Anyone know how can I fix this and go my Kontakt library downloaded? I have opened a support ticket but oasis't had any solution nonetheless.

2. Not sure this helps; but had same effect on Windows -- no bug on Mac with my external RAID 1+0. With Windows, it seemed to help to first launch KONTAKT in standalone, and brand certain y'all prepare prefs there for library locations and check the library setting to brand certain all the library paths are on the external drive, and then rescan dbase or whatever. Restart calculator, launch the Native Access (make sure information technology's the latest version! 1.5x) brand sure external drive does not 'get to sleep' when you are trying to download to it (!) -- I ofttimes open a window on that drive on desktop to See the install folder getting populated out of paranoia. Might or might not help, but couldn't hurt. If yous don't accept latest version on Windows; uninstall from the Windows 'apps' control console, then download and install fresh copy. Again, I've had this happen with Windows, but not with Mac, so not sure whassup with that.

3. Thanks Simchris! That'southward helpful. I finally got through to support and was told that at that place is a minimum of drive space needed on the main reckoner, whether or not that is where the data will exist stored, with the recommendation that I delete 50 gigs of memory off my laptop in ten gig increments until it works. I deleted equally much equally I could but plant that it still wouldn't install onto an external drive. So... stuck. They gave me a link to download the files exterior of the Native Access app, but unfortunately, as I apply a not-google mail account as my identity here, google drive kept me locked out from it. Still without the files.

4. Heh. Yes. I've found that BOTH Windows and Mac need at least 50GB 'headroom' to operate with all the temp files, downloads, or whatever. I take run into this on my Mac Pro with the 240GB SDD as boot drive; and also a 120GB SSD on Windows. Even an external bulldoze if information technology gets below 50GB gratis it starts interim weird. I recently swapped out a 500GB HDD in my notebook to 1TB, and swapped out the 240GB SDD to a 1TB HDD in my Windows box only to bargain with that kind of shenanigans. Luckily, lots of junk on on both Mac and Windows that can exist offloaded to spare backup drive (sheesh, I did this with my iphone photos recently, and it was similar 24GB correct at that place ... crazy !). 5. Over a year from the starting time of this mail service and I'm also having this issue.

   My situation:

   Macintosh Hd: 256.11 GB available of 499.99 GB
   Samsung 2TB external SSD hard drive: 1.32TB available

   Libraries I am trying to install are CineStrings Core (44.8GB) and CinePerc (92.66GB)

   I select my HDD as the download location.
   I select Applications/Native Instruments as the application location.
   I select my HDD as the content location.

   When I click Install on CineStrings Cadre I go the following message:

   Installation has been prevented

   You do not take enough free drive space to install the product(southward):

   • 72 GB required on Macintosh Hard disk: delight free an additional forty GB

   (Then followed by the link to the knowledge base and explainer text well-nigh needing temporary space)

   Plainly this is mad equally I've spent the terminal ii days combing my system files for things to delete, photograph libraries to motion onto external drives etc. etc. to free up enough space, which now I take more than enough of.

   These numbers don't add up. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Native Admission multiple times, deleting the plist, deleting caches and cookies and such from Application Support etc.

   Because this looks like an issue that was never resolved I'd really like somebody from the NI team to weigh in on this and offer the states an explanation of this particular problem.

6. It needs room to download an iso, extract work files, the write files. This how i ended upwards getting a 4 disk raid system, running raid ane+0... 4 6tb drives, or about 10tb striped and mirrored, reinstalled everything....no further trouble ever again. Worth considering for future upgrades and downloads.

7. Only to keep this thread updated.

   I got in touch with Native Instruments and received an email back today from i of the guys on the support team. He sent me Google Drive links to the manual installation .iso files for my libraries and they installed no problem on my external hard drive. This too updated on Native Access and I have no outstanding products I haven't installed - success.

   Strangely plenty I was able to install one of my libraries (CineStrings, the smaller of the two remaining) over the weekend through Native Access onto my external drive without irresolute Whatsoever settings. I didn't restart my figurer, I didn't exercise any further deletion of files, I didn't unmount and remount my external hard bulldoze. For some reason, it but worked afterward not touching annihilation for 24 hours (approx).

   I still had one library remaining (CinePerc) which was the larger library at over ninety GB. Despite having more than double the file space (well-nigh 256 GB) I nevertheless couldn't install through Native Access, saying I needed another 10 GB of space. I kept checking on this hoping information technology would install as the final one did, just instead this space prerequisite kept increasing over the adjacent few days despite no new files beingness downloaded at all asking me for 15 GB more free space past the time I received the email from the support team.

   I definitely don't think a raid system is necessary for most hobbyists, particularly if they take mobile setups, I but remember this is a issues with Native Admission - although I'g non certain the developers are aware and have added it to their excess, as so far every bit I can see there has been no input from the NI squad on this thread thus far.

   Flake of a nightmare installation process to be honest but the NI customer support team got to my ticket within about iii-4 working days which was good. On the bright side, new products sound absolutely excellent.

   For anyone reading this in the future, unless this issues has been fixed I'd open a ticket on the Back up department of the Native Instruments site and get in touch so you can get the manual files sent to you, which were very quick and easy to utilize for me.

8. This might work.
   After banging my head to the wall for some painful hours, I constitute the "magic button" that
   solved it for me.

   Make two folders on the external deejay, with the names: NI Content and NI Downloads
   Identify the downloaded files in the NI Downloads folder

   Then select in Native Access Preferences:

   * Download location?
   extern HD / NI Downloads

   * Aplication location?
   Intern HD/Applications/Native Instruments

   * Content location?
   extern HD / NI Content

   Go to "Non Installed" page in Native Access:

   Chose the product you want to install, click the spyglass symbol on the left side of the install button
   From the popup menu, chose the "NI Downloads" folder on the external HD as location
   And then the Install pick on the right side of the abolish button will turn blue.
   Click Install, and everything will be OK (hopefully for you too)
